Overview

WhatTheyWear is an AI-powered fashion outfit analyzer available as a Chrome extension and web application. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

Data We Collect

Images You Analyze

When you use WhatTheyWear to analyze an outfit, the image is sent to the Google Gemini API for processing. We do not store, retain, or share these images on our servers. The image is processed in real-time and discarded after analysis.

API Key

The Chrome extension requires a Google Gemini API Key that you provide. This key is stored locally in your browser using chrome.storage.sync and is never transmitted to our servers.

Analysis History

Analysis results (text descriptions, structured data, and thumbnail images) are stored locally on your device using IndexedDB. This data never leaves your browser unless you explicitly choose to export it.

Language Preference

Your selected language preference is stored locally in chrome.storage.sync.

Data We Do NOT Collect

  • Personal information (name, email, address, etc.)
  • Browsing history or web activity
  • Location data
  • Financial or payment information
  • Authentication credentials (other than your own API key stored locally)
  • Cookies or tracking identifiers

Third-Party Services

Images are sent to the Google Gemini API for analysis. Google's use of this data is governed by Google's Gemini API Terms of Service and Google's Privacy Policy.

Data Security

All API communications use HTTPS encryption. Your API key and analysis history are stored locally on your device and are not accessible to us or any third party.

Your Rights

  • You can delete your analysis history at any time from the extension's settings page.
  • You can remove your API key at any time.
  • You can uninstall the extension to remove all locally stored data.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date.
